Professional Scrum MasterTM (PSM) is one of the prevalent Agile Project Management Certifications that helps to enhance mastery in Scrum. Professionals who have successfully completed PSM exhibit mastery in the Scrum and are proficient in Scrum terminology.

Prerequisites for attending PSM training
There are no prerequisites for taking up PSM however the candidate is expected to be proficient in Scrum Guide and must have practical knowledge of the application of Scrum within the teams practicing Scrum.
PSM Certification Requirements
Professionals who wish to be PSM certified will have to pass the online assessment conducted by Scrum.org by paying the prescribed fee.
Though it is not mandatory to attend a Scrum.org organized Professional Scrum Training, it is greatly beneficial to attend one. There are courses available to assist people to prepare for the assessment that is determined by the role one is in. The candidate gets to choose between the 2-day Professional Scrum Foundations or Professional Scrum Master.
The candidate has to go through the Scrum Guide and solve Scrum Master and Product Owner related assessments on the Scrum.org website.
Further, in order to clear the PSM I exam, the candidate must answer 68 questions of the 80 questions consisting of Multiple Choice, Multiple Answer, and True or False questions in a 60-minute timeframe and score a passing percentage of 85%.
On clearing the exam, the candidate will receive the relevant Professional Scrum Master certification.
