What Are SEUs?
Scrum Education Units (SEUs) are credits earned through learning, teaching, volunteering, community participation, and professional development activities related to Scrum and Agile.
Generally:
1 Hour of Learning Activity = 1 SEU
Candidates must accumulate 20 SEUs during each certification cycle.
Ways to Earn SEUs

SEU Categories
Category A: Scrum Alliance Events
Activities include:

Maximum of 8 SEUs can typically be earned per day through event participation.
Category B: Scrum Alliance Courses
Earn SEUs by attending Scrum Alliance courses such as:

Scrum@Scale Practitioner
Training may be instructor-led, online, or self-paced.

How to Submit SEUs
Follow these steps to submit your SEUs:
Log in to your Scrum Alliance account.
Open your certification dashboard.
Navigate to Manage SEUs.
Select the appropriate activity category.
Enter activity details and learning hours.
Submit the information.
SEUs will be added to your account upon approval.
How to Renew Your CSM Certification
Once you have earned the required 20 SEUs:
Log in to your Scrum Alliance account.
Access your Certification Dashboard.
Navigate to Renew Certifications.
Select your CSM certification.
Verify your SEU requirements.
Pay the renewal fee.
Submit your renewal request.
After successful payment and verification, your certification validity will be extended.

CSM-certified professionals are provided with a 90-day grace period after certification expiration.
During this period, you can still complete the renewal requirements and reactivate your certification without starting the certification journey again.
